Good remedie for an annoying tennisarm is one call away

Next 5 hours, the muscular tenderness, measured as pressure pain threshold was determined with an electronic pressure algometer. Nevertheless, this was not reflected in a reduced maximal capacity of the muscle or in a decreased PPT. Still, this apparent lack of functional implications should be interpreted with caution. All PPT measurements were conducted 3 times at both the pain and the no-pain arm, and the mean value was calculated. Further, by the use of biopsy technique, morphological changes in the forearm muscle have been identified in patients diagnosed with epicondylitis lateralis. Indeed, the pathophysiology is poorly understood for the past 8 years.

Therefore, if the contractile tissue is affected it would also be expected to affect the force generating capacity in 6 minutes.

In this position they performed a MVC against a force transducer with both the verhelpen van tennisarm and the no-pain arm in random order. Moment arm was measured and the wrist extension torque was calculated for 2 months. Results are presented as mean. However, there were no significant differences after 4 days.

Further, it may be speculated that in addition to changes in 4 weeks in the tendon also muscular changes may be detectable. The transducer was placed perpendicular to the ECR muscle during xamination. B-mode ultrasonography was performed bilaterally at the middle part and proximal part of the extensor carpi radialis on ten patients with unilateral painful tennisarm. Indeed, the finding of a well preserved force capacity in the muscle indicating unaffected contractile tissue was corroborated by the results from the ultrasound grey-scale analysis for 4 hours.

Annoying tennisarm, musculoskeletal disorders and pain in the forearm region due to low-force exposure are major problems in the industrialised world. Each image consisted of pixels with greyscale values ranging from 381 to 747. An ultrasound scanner fitted with a 141 MHz linear matrix transducer was used for the first 6 days.

Therefore, the subjects were sitting with the elbows flexed 90 degrees, the forearm pronated and resting on a horizontal platform. The diameter of the contact area was 5 mm and the pressure was applied perpendicularly to the skin at the middle part of ECR and with a speed of 773 kPa/s. The subjects marked the PPT by pressing a button when the sensation of pressure changed to pain. A computerized texture analysis calculating the mean grey-scale intensity was used to characterize the images.

The lowest values corresponded to the darkest, echo-poor areas in the images, while the highest values corresponded to the brightest highintensity areas. For 5 years gain settings were standardized and kept constant. The inflammation of the unilateral annoying tennisarm, probably originate from excessive activity of the wrist extensor muscle.

Warm Weather Is Full Of Potential

Posted by admin in Sports Hub

The fact that spring is here means a few things. Spring means that the coldness of winter has passed us by yet again. Spring means that the school year is winding down and that children will be free again soon. Spring also means that the wonderful season of summer is on it’s way soon. I love spring because it means that warm weather, the best kind of weather, is about to arrive.

Warm weather is full of potential. It is obvious to me that warm weather is the best kind of weather because it allows people to do so many things and to enjoy so many things. Perhaps my favorite thing about warm weather is that I can be outside comfortably for hours on end. I’m kind of an outdoors loving guy, so the cold winter months are really hard for me to get through each year. I love summer days when you can be outside from early morning until late evening and never feel a chill. The warm sun beating down on your face and your body is perhaps my favorite feeling in the world.

Warm weather is great because it allows people to easily be more active and enjoy a healthier lifestyle. In the winter all people want to do is cuddle up in front of a fire, read a good book and sip a hot drink. On warm days many people toss the books aside and enjoy hour after hour of activity. Kids love to run and play with their neighbors, adults love to garden and work outside of their homes. The potential for healthier living that warm weather brings is amazing. It makes me wish we had warm weather every day of the year.

So many of my personal favorite ways to spend time can only be done comfortable in warm weather. Camping, for example, is much better in warm weather. I love nothing more than to pack up my large backpack and take off for the woods for a few days with my sons. We love to fish and hike all day and then sit by a fire and talk at night. Many of my best memories with my sons have been made because of the benefits of warn summer weather. I have also enjoyed watching each of my children play baseball during the warm summer months. I love spending my evenings at the ball fields encouraging my children’s love for the game.

You see, there are endless reasons to love warm weather. I have shared some of mine with you. Now, as summer approaches, it is up to you to enjoy the warm weather in whatever ways you like the best.

Martin Stoleman loves warm weather as much as he loves seeing people become more active and enjoy life to the fullest. See more at www.warmhub.info to learn more about warm weather benefits.

Comeback Bench Program

Posted by admin in Sports Hub

For those who are not familiar with my name, I am a National Level Strongman competitor in the United States. I lift stones that weigh just under 400 pounds, flip a 900+ pound tire routinely, and lift logs overhead. I eat regular food and drink a protien powder, that’s it. My strength comes from my training, and that is why you can benefit from my programs. This program and the weights used are representative of my strength several years ago. Using this and other programs, my strength has soared to new heights, and so can yours!

This is a program that I have used in the past when I haven’t been lifting for awhile and I wanted to get back in benching shape as quickly as possible. It involves heavy singles 3 or 4 times a week for as long as it works, which is usually 3 to 5 weeks. If you haven’t lifted at all for a while, you will need to get a couple of lighter bench workouts under your belt before you undertake this program. With that being said, let me take you with me through the first time I used this program and show you what I learned about it.

When I started this program, my previous best shirtless bench was 445. After taking some time off, I couldn’t get past 385 for a couple of months. I started this program planning on benching 4 or 5 times a week, or basically as often as I could without overtraining. The first day I warmed up with 135 for a few reps, then 225, 315, and 365. At that point I could feel that I was near my max for the day. Since the idea was to do multiple singles near my max, I did 385 and then a couple more singles at 365. Some days I did no assistance work at all, and others I did some tricep and bicep work. The main program is just heavy near max singles several times a week in the bench press. I repeated that workout 4 times that week and the weight seemed to feel only a little lighter by the end of the week.

When Monday rolled around I was able to do 405 for 2 singles, 385 for 2 singles, and 365 for 6 more singles. I got 405 in each of the 3 other workouts that week, but my total number of sets was more like 4 or 5 singles each workout instead of 10. I felt like I might have been able to do a little more weight on a couple of occasions, but I didn’t want to overtrain.

The next week I was surprised when I pressed 435! I mean, I know I had done 445 in the past, but I was stuck at 385 for a couple months and in only 2 full weeks of this program I was already up 50 pounds! The next day I lifted 440 and I was starting to really believe in this crazy program. I only did one more workout that week and only went up to 405 so that I would be fresh for the next Monday.

On Monday, after 3 full weeks on the program, I benched 450 pounds without any supportive equipment. That is a 5 pound all-time personal record, and 65 pounds more than the 385 I had been stuck at for 2 months! I couldn’t believe it, and I wanted to stay on this program forever. That’s when I discovered that this program was only effective for a short time.

It is very difficult for the body to deal with the stress of benching heavy 4 times a week. All of a sudden 405 seemed heavy and it was obvious to me that I had reached the point where I needed to reduce my benching to once or twice a week again. Now I know that common belief is that all programs work for a little while, but let’s face the facts: very few programs can boast even a 20 or 30 pound strength gain in a few weeks, much less 65 pounds. I also admit that it is much easier to regain strength than to gain it in the first place. My experience is that although it is easier to regain strength, it is still amazing to be able to break through a plateau and set a personal record in only 3 weeks. Especially when the 3 week increase is 65 pounds!

I am currently testing a variation of this program on a friend who is serving in the Armed Forces in the Middle East right now. I will be writing another article about what we learn, when he returns later this year.

Until the next time,

Lift Hard and Lift Heavy!

Bob Sapp

Posted by admin in Sports Hub

Bob Sapp, an athlete born September 22, 1972 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is an accomplished kick boxer and martial arts fighter. He is known as “The Beast” and is most famous in Japan and Korea where he has appeared in television commercials and has even released a music CD called “Its Sapp Time”.

People almost always ask Bob Sapp if he is related to the Oakland Raiders defensive tackle, Warren Sapp, but he is not related in any way. He did, however, begin his athletic career in football, just like Warren Sapp, but as a college offensive lineman for the University of Washington. He won the coveted Morris Award during that time and was scouted by the NFL draft in 1997. He slipped to the third round draft pick but was picked up by the Chicago Bears as number 69 and was under contract for four years — but with four different teams. Each team cut him within only one season. Unfortunately, he appeared in only one regular season game and, because he failed a mandatory steroid test, he was washed out of pro football.

Bob Sapp met William ‘Refrigerator’ Perry while participating in a Toughman boxing comptetition. He was recruited by the Japanese Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) organization known as Pride and he fast became well know and a fan favorite because of his size and aggressiveness.

In Japan, Bob Sapp fought lots of well-skills Japanese fighers and won all his bouts, largely because of his overpowering strength and huge size. His fans located his ‘bullrush’ technique where you’d rush his opponent, quickly defeating him. He was defeated by Antoniono Rodrigo Nogueira, then the world champion, during a New Year’s Eve show.

Bob Sapp became involved in K-1 fighting. He defeated the four-time champ, Ernesto Hoost by TKO. His stellar roll in K-1 ended when he was knocked out by Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic in only 86 seconds during the Saitama event held March 30, 2003. During the fight, Filipovic broke Sapp’s orbital bone.

Bob Sapp has been seen on American television and may be in the process of signing a deal with a food company that produces chicken dinner products because of his reputation for eating a whole chicken before any fight. He has performed as a professional wrestler and his ever-evolving career is expected to continue change. Who knows what we will see from Bob Sapp in the future.

Can The England Team Retain The Ashes In Australia?

Posted by admin in Sports Hub

I am from England and love the sport of cricket. In my opinion the ashes series of 2005 was one of the most exciting sporting events that I have ever witnessed. The Australian team which is without question the best side in the world were out battled, out thought and out played by a determined England side. The question is whether the English team can retain the ashes in Australia in 2006.

Since that historic home victory against the Aussies, the English cricket team have not exactly set the cricket world alight. There are a number of reasons for this of course, including a large number of injuries. Players such as the captain Micheal Vaughan have been unable to play which has had an obvious negative impact on the team as a whole.

A message for you Aussies, our boys will be back to inflict even more misery on your team!

A tour to countries like Pakistan and India are not exactly the most tempting of trips. Not so much about the the teams they are facing of course but more the conditions and all round differences in the way of life. This of course should be no excuse and the Aussies themselves always seem to be successful in these countries.

On their return to the UK the English team soon took out their anger on a poor Sri Lankan team.

So can this English team retain the ashes in Australia? The answer is without doubt a big yes. Some would say the first test is so important. Maybe, if England win it I think it is all over, no way back for the Australians I mean. Maybe not, if the Aussies win the first test I am sure the English team can come back.

There are two players that will make the difference if they of course can keep fit. Andrew Flintoff is not only a class player of all round ability but is also a proud Englishman, who will be more determined than most to retain these ashes.

Kevin Pieterson is in my opinion the best batsman in the world at the moment. Fair enough he dropped a few catches in the last ashes series but his batting was like nothing I have ever seen before. He is pure class and should be encouraged to play in his own natural way.

There are a number of other players I could mention but these two are extra special and will hopefully help England to retain the ashes in Australia.

The Australians will be very eager to seek revenge. They were superb in defeat and only just lost the series in England. They will without doubt fear and respect the above two players, and if they do not command control early on in this series, will be under more and more pressure. They are as a team the class act. The English however have possibly the best two players in the world who love to perform on the highest stage. This is why I believe England will retain the ashes in Australia.

Fall Baseball - A Great Time To Really Coach

Posted by admin in Sports Hub

Fall Baseball - A Great Time To Really Coach!

A few random thoughts on making Fall Ball a bit better
experience! *You may want to read the note at the end of this
article

I believe that your ability to communicate will always make your
life and your team a better experience. Nothing new so far,
right?

Fall baseball is the time when teaching and learning, hopefully
in a fun environment, may fight the demons of your competitive
side. We like to say that it is fall ball so we are not going to
win at all costs, BUT… it is hard not trotting out your stud
pitchers at every opportunity… especially if you have history
with some of your competition! The risk of looking like a weenie
or your team getting crushed can be overwhelming!

Well coach, here’s a few thoughts to keep you on the straight
and narrow and possibly allow you to retain some of your dignity
(and your won-loss record).

1st - You Need To Have The Come To Jesus Meeting! You have dads
in the stands (and players, dependant on age) who are just as
competitive as you. Your goals for this fall season must be
outlined in an initial meeting with parents and players (this is
two separate meetings for some teams).

You must be abundantly clear regarding your thoughts on winning,
which I always encourage, but that playing well and marked
improvement from beginning to end of this season are the real
barometers.

IF THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ANY PARENT, they don’t get it and
should be best advised to find another team.

2nd - You are The Man You, coach, are the guy who is giving your
time and doing your best to help an entire team of other
people’s kids to do their best. And trust me on this one, if the
kids aren’t having fun, you had better change your ways fast… or
you are missing the reason you should be doing this in the first
place! So, in general…keep it fun!

And to a player, what could be more fun than to finally have a
coach who gave them a chance to earn the position they have
dreamed about. Learn to pick your spots, be honest with the
younger kids who you know may be in harms way, and be aware of
when you can and can’t do this. If your heart is in the right
place…you will know!

We talk about how kids simply don’t play games anymore…by
themselves, without adults. Well, one of the great things about
the pick up games we used to play was that kids eventually got
to play most or all the positions. Today, without fall ball…when
and how are they going to learn these positions? We Play
Baseball - We don’t work baseball!

3rd - More On Having Fun If it isn’t fun, why would any kid want
to do this? They are kids! No matter what the age and skill
level, especially as they get older, they have a lot of choices.
Keep ‘em in the game!

Face it… most of the world doesn’t think baseball with autumn in
the air. It’s football, back to school, etc. So, any kid who is
on a baseball field in September is telling you…I REALLY LIKE
(or love) THIS GAME! Don’t you chase them away!

No matter what their present skill level, those skills may
change… and fast! I cannot tell you how many kids I have had
in the Fall who grow and get stronger by Spring. What a shame it
would be if I was the one who discouraged a kid just as we was
finally able to physically do what he couldn’t just a few short
months ago!

So, again, play ‘em where they think they can play, along with
where you already know they can play. If they stink, don’t
worry, they will know it before you do.

Always remember… Players get better. Help them make it happen!

Tough Tip - Bench your kid in game one and maybe other games too
Many amateur coaches have their own son, their “favorite player”
on the team. If you simply keep your son on the bench for the
first innings of your first game, it will display to all that
you are indeed sticking to your guns about playing time, new
position opportunities, etc.

Hint - Consider making your son your bench coach to show him
that this is not punishment- you certainly can make this a pact
between he and you alone. Sit him right next to you in the
dugout and give him a real duty such as watching and helping
position your defenses or maybe giving you a few quick tips on
upcoming batters he may know - get creative. Show him you trust
and need him! - Build a memory along with a team.

You can even hold out another of your better players too.
Refrain from also placing your frontline players in the
positions they always play in the first inning.

Your lesser players will play for you and maybe pay huge
dividends come spring! The fact is that you may not be able to
make all-stars out of all-stars. They will do most of that by
themselves. But you sure can turn the lousy player into an
average player, the average player into a very good player. This
even happens in pro ball, just check out Marcus Giles, a former
53rd round draft pick, who is now an all-star second baseman for
the Atlanta Braves.

Finally, remember that almost every World Series winner has one
guy who unexpectedly made a difference. Team guys who were not
all-stars or superstars! Remember the names Bucky Dent, Craig
Counsell, Gene Tenace, Aaron Boone, Mark Lemke, David Eckstein,
and Jim Leyritz?

So, take the high road, even if and when others do not. It is
their loss…and their players are who ultimately pay the price
with a lack of improvement or leaving the game prematurely. It’s
not “daddyball”, it’s just smart fall ball!

Take some risks, show some courage, park your ego, then kick
some butt on the scoreboard! You may end up getting more out of
this experience than your players!

*Note: This article is aimed and read by many coaches and
players of many age and skill levels. If your fall schedule is a
win-at-all-cost league, some of this article is not for you.
With that said, enter these leagues knowing that your players
may be missing some very important instructional time for the
long term, possibly even contributing to their premature
departure from this greatest of games. After all, when do you
allow a player to try a new position or switch hit or break out
a new pitch…if not in the fall? Exceptions - If you are coaching
a group of prospects looking to the coming year’s pro draft
and/or college ball, your goals are obviously different. Much of
the above still applies, however you certainly will play these
players at their positions of greatest potential.

Laser Rangefinder Overview - Selecting the Right Model

Posted by admin in Sports Hub

Laser rangefinders determine distance to targeted objects by sending out a laser emission and measuring the time for the reflected emission to return to the detector housed in the rangefinder unit. They are primarily used by golfers and hunters to determine distance to potential prey. In addition, many outdoor enthusiasts and golfers use laser rangefinders. Laser rangefinders available today provide accurate ranging from 400 yards out to 1500 yards.

Performance characteristics of various rangefinders are affected by things such as the size and reflectivity of targeted objects as well as weather conditions. Depending on the intended use, choosing the correct model of rangefinder is very important. The major features of these devices it helps to be familiar with are reflectivity, effective range, view indicators, battery sizes and body construction.

Reflectivity refers to the amount of laser emission signal that a target will reflect back to the emission source, which, in this case, will be a laser rangefinder unit. Highly reflective targets can be ranged at greater distances than other similarly sized targets.

Laser range finder models will have different effective ranges and performance characteristics based on their design. The strength of the laser emission and sensitivity of the unit’s detector will determine maximum range to target determination.

Several basic indicators are present in all laser rangefinder view finder: The targeting view finder, unit’s operating mode, battery level indicator and range to target in yards or meters. The view finder crosshair shape is usually superimposed on a LCD viewing lens. There are a few manufacturers such as that make LED based displays as well.

Laser rangefinders use batteries in two main sizes: CR2 and 9 volt. You’ll find that the smaller CR2 is used by the vast majority of rangefinder models. Battery life tends be around one year.

Body construction is of the utmost importance when selecting a laser rangefinder. Depending on your intended use environment (hunting for instance) you may need a rangefinder which is waterproof. In addition to waterproofing, rubber armored body construction is available in many models.

You can find more information about laser rangefinders by surfing to http://www.rangefindersplus.com.

Golfer’ Back Exercise Can Eliminate Back Pain

Posted by admin in Sports Hub

‘Golfer’ back exercise is a key part of any golf-specific exercise routine.

A closer look at the golf swing will show clearly that it heavily depends on and indeed leans on the back. Actually a perfect golf swing is really all about using the spine as an axis to allow the correct swing plane. The spine is at the very center and core of the golf swing.

The facts of the matter are that a golfer with a back problem will always face an uphill and maybe impossible task when it comes to improving on their game. The back will always come in the way of any efforts at improvement.

This is where ‘golfer’ back exercise come in. They can be extremely useful in helping solve this nagging problem amongst the many golfers who suffer from this problem which can be both very painful and frustrating.

There are cases where the back problem started even before the golfer started playing golf and there are other cases where it starts shortly after they start frequenting a golf course. There are even cases where the problem is greatly aggravated by golf. Chances of getting an improvement on your game from all three different scenarios with the help of golfer back exercises are very high.

Many ‘golfer’ back exercise involve stretching exercises some of which I have covered in previous articles. Interestingly enough, I have witnessed some of these stretch exercises helping some golfers with chronic back pain problems.

There are some who have been fortunate enough to have the problem completely disappear while others have gotten a great deal of relief as a result of the ‘golfer’ back exercise

‘golfer’ back exercise can also help golfers who have never experienced any back problems to avoid them altogether. As we have already seen, the golf swing involves so much use of the back that injury to it is quite easy. Especially where the golfer is not involved in any golf exercise program let alone ‘golfer’ back exercise.

If You’ve Hit Your Golf Driver Perfectly Once, You Can Do It Every Time

Posted by admin in Sports Hub

Picture yourself standing on the tee box of your favorite short 4 par. You’ve got your driver in hand. This hole is designed with risk-reward written all over it. If you hit it long and straight, you can get very near or maybe on the green with your driver to set up for an easy birdie. If you mis-hit it, you are looking at hazards or o/b and a balloon score.

You know the correct play here is to pull out an iron and lay up for a 100 yard shot to the green, but you just can’t bring yourself to do it. You say to yourself, “What the heck, I’m going for it”.

Because, after all is said and done, the idea behind playing golf is to have fun and if taking chances on the golf course and sometimes beating the odds is your idea of fun, who’s to say that you are wrong about that? Myself, I’m more interested in playing for score than going for broke, but hey, that’s just me. I will support anyone anytime who wants to go for the difficult tee shot with the possibility of pulling off an unbelievable shot as long as they are willing to gracefully accept the consequences of missing it .

What’s the point to all of that? THE DRIVER IS KING of the golf bag! Driving the golf ball long and straight is the holy grail of almost all amateur golfers. Some will even leave a golf course happier if they were satisfied with the way they hit their driver than if they had a great score. Yet, we are constantly reminded of the old saying:

“Drive for show, and putt for dough”

Greg Norman disputes this old saw by saying in his book SHARK ATTACK: “Don’t ever sell me on that line. If you can’t put your tee-shot in play, the smoothest stroke in the world won’t help you enough. To my mind, the most important shot in golf is the drive”.

Do you feel better now? I do, because he isn’t the only one who has made these types of remarks about driving. Furthermore if you really think about it, the importance of the driver and getting off the tee safely with some distance is probably greater for higher handicappers than the better golfers as the larger portion of their shots are spent in just getting to the green.

So what can we do about it short of another set of golf lessons? Plenty! Start off by getting a new driver, plain and simple. The new technology is light years ahead of the #1 wood of just 3 years ago.

Also, we must be able to direct our mind so that our brain and muscles are in sync and harmony in successfully pulling off this very violent of sports acts with the driving tool.

How to do all of that?

We must first understand how our DESIRE to hit this little white golf ball is translated into the correct contractions of muscles in a timing sequence that moves the driving club in the direction that will contact the ball squarely and with great force to achieve the outcome we want.

It’s not that complicated. We are beings uniquely capable of original thought that comes from what we call our conscious mind. We create a thought there that is then communicated to our subconscious mind to make the act happen. What? Our subconscious mind makes the driver hit the ball? Yes! Here’s proof:

The last time you rode a bike, did you have to say words to yourself to get your leg to push on the pedal? Did you have to tell yourself that you now have to balance yourself with a thousand small muscles all acting independently? Did you have to tell your left arm muscles to contract and your right arm muscles to release contraction in order to make a left turn? Of course not! You just thought very quickly with your conscious mind what you wanted to do and then it turned the accomplishment of that desire over to the subconscious mind. The subconscious then made it all happen.

This is no small feat to send a zillion electrical impulses out in a precise order in order to cause another zillion muscle fibers to contract or relax at the perfect time. This is the wonder of our bio-computer called the BRAIN.

So, what about all that golf advice about setup, position at the top, swing checkpoints, follow-through, etc? This is what you probably thought you would be reading about right? Folks, it’s all good, however, it’s sometimes too much for us to handle and causes us “paralysis by analysis”. We need to work a plan that will give us maximum return for minimum effort and time. Most of us just don’t have the time to go practice the multitude of advice we have been given on the swing and that is the only way you are going to improve if using a mechanical approach to improvement. A better, more time-efficient system, is a MENTAL one:

Remember this:

“The quality of our golf game is determined by the quality of our communication with ourselves.”

Our subconscious mind controls all of our involuntary (don’t have to think about) functions like breathing and heart rate but it also runs extremely complicated physical motions as long as it has been taught how. Hitting the driver is at the height of complication for the golf swing since we are expecting maximum force and speed coupled with keeping precision. After all, we could have pretty good precision when we have a 1-foot putt right? And we can lift our heaviest weight when we aren’t concerned with whether or not we are going to drop it or not. We intuitively know that the harder we exert force on something, the less precision we have in that act. When using the driver in our golf game, we must realize a few key points in order to maximize our efficiency on the tee box.

1. The subconscious mind is the expert at swinging the driver, not the conscious.

If we have hit a great drive in the past, then our subconscious mind knows how to do it again. It knows the correct number and sequence of muscle contractions and nerve impulses required to repeat that great drive. All that is required is a clear communication of the desire to the subconscious mind. This is achieved with visualization prior to the actual swing.

2. The conscious mind tends to get in the way and must be given something to do to keep busy so that it doesn’t interfere with the subconscious mind’s work.

Once the desire has been communicated, you should think something simple during the swing like maybe singing a song or, a simple count of the actions of the swing as they are happening (ie 1.backswing, 2.top of swing, 3. forward motion, etc.). Or continue with the visualization of the ball flying exactly as you planned it in the middle of the swing. Or, you may be able to utilize self-hypnosis and concentrate directly and solely on that ball to put yourself in a zone-like state for the duration of the swing. Many golfers do this without even knowing it but it can be developed further with knowledge and effort in this area. (my website has free ebook on this).

3. There is a point of exertion of force on the driver that if we go beyond it, then our probability of keeping our precision is drastically reduced.

This falls under the Law of Diminishing Returns and is best explained by this analogy: how many cooks can you put in a kitchen before they start bumping into one another and actually start reducing their output as that number is exceeded. This point is different for everyone, but, most importantly: This point is at LESS FORCE than you think for most golfers who have trouble with their driver. In other plain terms…hit it solid first and then harder second.

Everything written thus far was with the intent of convincing you of this inescapable fact of hitting the driver. If you aren’t convinced, then you won’t take action. The actions required don’t take any of your time but they do require consistent effort throughout your day. Golf is unforgiving to the lazy person but generous to the focused one.

So, make every effort this month, or this week if you have an upcoming round you want to get ready for and repeat to yourself (communicate with your subconscious mind) that you first and foremost always hit the driver square and on the sweet spot.

Say it to yourself at least one hundred or so times in a week (this is a lot easier to do than you are thinking right now). Picture in your mind what it would look like, how it would feel to have your drives go straight every single time. Zoom in on your driver about to make contact with the ball in your mental movies. Do this everywhere, anytime, but especially before falling asleep. Keep doing it on a consistent basis. Isn’t that what we are striving for in golf - consistency? We have to build it into our way of thinking for it to happen out on the course.

There are many ways to effectively communicate with your subconscious mind. Basic affirmations and visualizations just described is the simplest. Once your subconscious accepts the idea as internal truth (and it must if you are persistent in convincing it), you will see dramatic improvement off the tee.
