Massive Companies Bring High Speed Gaming Laptops to the Masses

Posted by admin in Technology Infos

Not so long a go it appeared like gaming laptop computers were only obtainable from select manufacturers and they were normally custom made. They were small volume sellers and high turnover producing items. They were the laptop computers you day dreamed about but were out of your reach. They the the newest technology and simply the best laptop computers. As badly as I desired one I couldn’t afford to buy laptop computers like them. These days things are a lot different with bigger manufacturers also releasing gaming notebooks.

These are definitely high margin notebook computers for the international brands and they know it. These days the standard notebook margins are really narrow so it presents the chance for them to regain the gross profits. With their gigantic marketing budgets I am certain they can persuade anybody to buy laptop computers like these. In my view this could extremely hurt littler laptop sellers if they don’t differentiate their unique proposition. This once premium technology is basically going to be targeted at everyone now. In addition the familiar brand name will give consumers more confidence.

The laptop computers being introduced by brand name manufacturers are all competing for the best laptop title. In my view however, this is actually a source of promise for the small companies in retail. I highly doubt people will prefer to have a similar spec like everybody in this kind of market. People of this kind are typically highly in the know concerning the technology at hand, and hence can carry out spec for spec comparisons. For certain purchasers specifications and benchmarks are more important than physical design. This would be viewed as a beneficial development for the buyer. The competition between the large companies should drive prices down when they seek to differentiate from each other. Even though I say that, I am not actually confident with my predictions. Whether laptop prices will come down overall is an additional topic but the best laptop computers are normally pricey. Although I still think outcomes will be good due to the saturating market, we’ll have to watch.

Talking to Your ADHD Child’s Teacher

Posted by admin in Money Making

If your child has ADHD, talking to his teacher may be the most important thing you can do to help him function more effectively at school in spite of his ADHD, and maybe even because of the ADHD.

Most teachers want to help their students, and most teachers have had ADHD kids in their classes before, if they’ve been teaching long. In general, teachers want to understand ADHD and the ADHD child and in particular they want to understand your child, their student.

Your first step in talking to a teacher about your ADHD child should be to simply explain that your child has ADHD, that it ADHD is a common childhood illness, and that you and your child’s doctor are ready to provide any information the teacher requires about ADHD, including a list of books and web sites that discuss teaching the ADHD child.

Next, ask if your child is having any problems in the classroom or on the playground. If your ADHD child is having problems at school, find out what they are, whether they are likely related to ADHD, and what you can do about them.

Your child’s teacher will need to know what ADHD medications your child is taking, even if he doesn’t take them at school. Also explain any other ADHD treatments your child is receiving, including therapy or special diet.

Finally, find out if your ADHD child can get any special services. If you are in a public school in the United States, the answer to this is yes, there are accomodations available for ADHD kids. Private schools or schools outside the U.S. will have different ADHD accomodations.

If you feel you haven’t gotten the results you hoped for by talking to your ADHD child’s teacher, or if the teacher feels there is more that can be done, you can also talk to a guidance counselor. These specialists may know more about ADHD than your average teacher and may be able to help.

Staged Homes - 11 Top Reasons to Stage Your Home for Sale

Posted by admin in Money Making

If you’re selling your home or investment house, take advantage of home staging trends. Here are eleven key points about staged homes.

1. Staged Homes Sell in Less Time

Surveys on the effects of home staging range from stating that home sell for 30 percent faster to the Christian Science Monitor’s statistic that staged homes sell twice as fast. Last year, during the hot seller’s market, The National Association of Realtors found that staged homes sold in 13.9 days as opposed to 31 for non-staged homes. Imagine what the effect will be during a buyer’s market.

2. Staged Homes Sell for More Money

Homes that sit on the market usually get lower offers because home shoppers think that there’s something wrong with the house and that the desperate home seller is an easy mark for a low offer. Research proves that staged homes sell for more. The NAR statistics indicated that staged homes sold for an average of 6.9 to 10% over listing price.

3. Staged Exteriors Entice Viewing

When homes shoppers first pull up in front of a home for sale, they make up their minds in SECONDS whether to get out of their comfortable vehicle or drive on. A manicured front yard with staging additions like flowers in colorful pots near the front door and a bench to sit makes buyers want to see what’s inside. Entice your buyers to come in, not drive on.

4. Staged Entryways Affect Buyer’s Decision

Once they cross the threshold, home buyers know within 15 seconds whether they like the home or not. You must captivate your buyers right away with a setting staged for your target buyer. Entice your buyers to take a good look, not hurry through.

5. Staged Living Rooms Make Buyers Feel at Home

Beyond the usual deep cleaning and decluttering, staging your living room with suggestions of activities gives buyers ideas like how it will feel to entertain in the space. Spur imagination with props like a cocktail tray set out. Entice your buyers to move in, not move on to the next home.

6. Staged Kitchens Sell Houses

Because the kitchen ranks paramount in home shoppers list of requirements, spend extra time staging the space. Remove all appliances on the counter and dress the space with flowers and bowls of fruit. Buyers pay a premium for kitchens that are ready to move in and not ready to work on.

7. Staged Homes Tell Buyers that Your Home Is Loved

Buyers desire a well-maintained home. Homes that show well speak to the buyers that you care enough to keep on routine maintenance.

8. Staged Homes Attract Agents

It’s a fact that real estate agents love staged homes, too. Get agents to keep your home on the top of their “must show” list. Agents show staged homes even when they fall short or exceed the buyers wish list because savvy agents know buyers choose homes based on their emotions and not their “must have” lists.

9. Staged Homes Get More Advertising

Your agent and even other agents will want to show your home and they will advertise it more than an ordinary home just to get the phone ringing. Benefit from all the extra exposure at no extra cost to you.

9. Staged Homes Appraise for Top Dollar

Once you sell your home, you need the appraisal to come in high enough to cover your buyer’s mortgage. Make sure you keep your home staged for the all important date–Appraisal Day. Too many home sales fall through just because the appraised value didn’t meet the sales price.

10. Staged Homes Keep Buyers on Track

When you create a buyers’ “Dream Home,” they can’t wait to move in. Use staging magic to avoid “buyer’s remorse.” Motivated buyers make sure they get all their paperwork in on time and won’t jeopardize their purchase.

11. Staged Homes Help Home Sellers Move

Besides selling your home, the act of staging helps you get rid of clutter, pare down your furnishings to the best–those worth moving, and gets you organized to move on to your next home, hopefully your “dream home!”

To see reason # 13, go to Staged Homes

Irish Driving Instructors Go Back to School

Posted by admin in Money Making

Just launched is the new set of proposals for the introduction of Driving Instructor Registration. We have been waiting over 6 years for this to commence and during this time countless young Drivers have lost their lives due to the fact that there is no mandatory tuition requirement here in Ireland as in virtually all other European Countries!

Those entering the Profession as of now will be required to sit the three stage Examination and accreditation process and be accepted by July 2007 and those who are already practising Instructors and who have passed the DIR examination and monitoring process will be required to be accepted by July 2008. So there is plenty of time for everyone to do what is necessary. Hopefully the non professionals out there will be weeded out during this process.

Also hot of the presses in the last few days is the news that agreement has been reached in the on-going saga of outsourcing of Irish Driving Tests which has been on the table now for well over a year or more!

The company currently running the NCT operation has been given the go ahead to carry out a single tranche of 40,000 Driving Test over the next 18 months in order to bring down the horrendous waiting times for Tests throughout the Country. It is interesting to note that the number of Driving Tests from conducted over the last two years has dropped from the figures of recent years so this new initiative is a very welcome improvement!

Learner Driver Provisional Licenses will be reshaped as soon as the Test delays are coming under control and hopefully mandatory tuition will be part of this remodelling process. It is estimated that only 20% of candidates for the Driving Test are taking pre test lessons with the result that the failure rate is high at around 50% and the general standard of driving very poor indeed.

Mandatory tuition will save lives, waste much less time of hard pressed examiners and ultimately create a new generation of at least competent Drivers compared with the mayhem that currently masquerades as the Driving Populace!

With the improvement in driving skills the benefit of fewer accidents will be noticeable and this in turn will mean a reduction in Insurance rates for everyone. There will be less of a drain on the State coffers, which drain as a result of accidents, is currently running at the staggering figure of 1Billion Euro per year. Even a fraction of this put into Driver Education will pay handsome dividends.

It is really sad that it takes pressure from the E.U administration in Brussels for any meaningful action by the Department of Transport in dealing with the unique Irish Learner Driver demographics!

Robin Piggott is a Driving Instructor in Ireland who brings four decades of experience to his Astral Driving School based in Limerick. His newly refurbed web site launching in a few days can be found at http://www.astraldrivingschool.com Here you can find a treasure trove of everything for the Learner Driver and also pages for the visitor who is contemplating Touring Ireland by Car.In the meantime pick up a free mini-course “Passing your Driving Test First Time ” at http://www.astralmotoring.ie

Why Benjamin Franklin Was So Awesome

Posted by admin in Money Making

Copyright 2006 Ed Bagley

Almost everyone who has graduated from high school knows that Benjamin Franklin was a famous American.

Most of us have read that Franklin used a lighting rod to prove a theory he had about electricity. Others remember that he was the one who invented the bifocals which many of us wear today. (I just ordered a new pair of trifocals; thanks to Ben, I see better.)

But few of us also know these facts and observations about Benjamin Franklin:

Franklin was America’s best scientist, inventor, writer, business strategist and diplomat of his time. He was also one of the era’s most practical political thinkers!

Franklin’s interest in electricity led him to note the distinction between insulation and conductors, the idea of electrical grounding, and the concepts of capacitors and batteries.

Franklin discovered that the big East Coast storms known as northeasters, whose winds come from the northeast, actually move in the opposite direction from their winds, traveling up the coast from the south, thus beginning the science of weather forecasting.

Franklin combined both science and mechanical practicality by devising the first urinary catheter used in America.

Franklin declined to patent his inventions, freely sharing his findings, as his love of science was born of curiosity.

Franklin became the first person in America to manufacture type, because there was no foundry in America for casting type when he opened his print shop.

Franklin reprinted an English novel–Pamela–thereby publishing the first novel in America.

Franklin created America’s first great humor classic, Poor Richard’s Almanack (Almanac, in today’s usage), which Franklin began publishing in 1732, combining two goals of his doing-well-doing-good philosophy: the making of money and the promotion of virtue. His aphorisms and observations soon became legend.

Franklin’s genius as a 16-year-old writer was obvious when he authored 14 essays anonymously that were published in his brother’s newspaper, creating the character Silence Dogood, a widowed woman. Franklin’s ability to speak convincingly as a woman was remarkable, and his writing style would introduce a new genre of American humor: the wry, homespun mix of folksy tales and pointed observations that would later be perfected by such great American writers and humorists as Mark Twain and Will Rogers.

Franklin became America’s first gossip columnist.

Franklin became the patron saint of self-improvement guides by writing many personal credos that laid out his pragmatic rules for success. Dale Carnegie would follow in his footsteps, as well as hundreds of positive thinking, modern day self-improvement authors.

Franklin manufactured the first recorded abortion debate in America, not because he had any strong feelings on the issue, but because he knew it would help sell newspapers.

Franklin was the consummate networker, forming a club of young workingmen he dubbed the Junto, which met in a rented room and, by pooling the books of its members, became America’s first subscription library.

Franklin created a volunteer fire force (the forerunner of today’s volunteer fire department), and established the academy that would later be renamed the University of Pennsylvania.

Franklin was appointed to the top post office job in America by the British government. Within a year, he had cut to one day the delivery time of a letter from New York to Philadelphia. (The United States Postal Service manages to get the same letter delivered in an average of three days today!)

Franklin retired at age 42, with an assured income over the next 18 years of approximately 650 pounds annually; in his day, a common worker earned 25 pounds a year, so Franklin retired with an annual income 26 times a normal working person’s wages! (In today’s money, if you were making $50,000 a year in income, Franklin was getting by in retirement on an income of $1.3 million–$1,300,000–annually.)

Franklin became America’s greatest diplomat by negotiating the support of France (its money, its recognition and its military support), that led to the success of the American Revolution, and creation of the United States of America as an independent nation.

Franklin was instrumental in shaping the three great documents of the American Revolution: the Declaration of Independence, the alliance with France, and the treaty with England.

Franklin was the only person to sign all four of America’s founding papers: the Declaration of Independence, the treaty with France, the peace accord with Britain, and the Constitution of the United States.

Franklin’s most important vision was an American national identity based on the virtues and values of its middle class.

Franklin came up with the concept of matching grant money, showing how government and private initiative could be woven together for the common good.

Franklin was America’s first great publicist. He carefully crafted his own persona, portrayed it in public, and polished it for posterity.

Franklin perfected the art of poking fun at himself, recognizing that a bit of wry self-deprecation could make him seem even more endearing.

Franklin was the first to note that “nothing can be said to be certain except death and taxes.”

Franklin was also the first to remind us that “a penny saved is a penny earned.” Franklin might also have said “a penny, invested wisely, could be the start of a small fortune.”

Benjamin Franklin would have been one of the first people of his time to use computers, and would have been one of the first to start an Internet marketing business. Franklin loved to make money, and he loved the virtues of independence, self-reliance, hard work and innovation, all virtues associated with making a lot of money.

Franklin would have been front and center with today’s Internet marketers, in constant contact with his fellow entrepreneurs through online forums, e-mail messaging, and hobnobbing at seminars around the country and overseas (Paris was his second home).

Was Benjamin Franklin awesome? Absolutely.

Ed Bagley is an Internet Marketer. For an excellent biographical source on Ben Franklin, Ed recommends Walter Isaacson’s masterpiece: Benjamin Franklin, An American Life. For a look at how Ben Franklin might have started his Internet Marketing business, visit…

Essence of Self Certified Mortgages

Posted by admin in Money Making

Your search for a mortgage isn’t leading results.

Check for any impediments. May be the lenders dread offering credit on the grounds that you are self employed.

But are you alone in the pursuit? No. The statistics put the figure of self employed people at around three million. Add to this the people who are working freelance and those working as temporary hires. They too are denied mortgages on the same grounds as a self employed.

If the mortgage companies continue with this step motherly attitude towards such a vast group of population, it is not late when they lose plenty of their business.

And what are the grounds for such denial. The most basic reason is that these persons do not have a stable income. The self employed persons, for instance, earn a lot one month, and nothing in another. This increases the chances of a default or arrears.

Second reason for not allowing them an access to mortgages is that they get their income from varied sources, thus making the computation of income difficult. A freelancer may work for a number of people, each paying him/ her different remuneration for his services.

Finally these people do not have any means to prove their income like those who are in employment with others. The salary slip or P60 forms can prove income of the latter. But there is no such document with the self employed persons. Audit results of three previous years would have served the purpose, had accounts not been fudged to evade tax.

This is where self certified mortgages step up to provide relief. A self certified mortgage can help self employed and freelancers to draw as much fund as they like, without having to prove their income. This includes no dishonest ways and means to prove a larger income. In this kind of mortgage a customer has to declare income and no further checks are made. The customer is required to put forth no documents to prove his contention. It is his words that value more.

Self certified mortgages allow borrowers to take as much as ₤1 million with a
10 - 15% of deposits (this is dependent on the lenders). Self certified mortgage carries a higher rate of interest than most of the regular mortgages because of the increased risk.

The amount of money that a customer can borrow on self certified mortgages is calculated after adding up the annual income of both customer and his/ her spouse (if both are working), along with any bonus, commission, and any other sources of income pertaining to the customer.

Customers shall after making the calculations decide how much can they pay as the monthly installment. They have to be careful in deciding this. They know their monthly income better than any other person. Both extraordinarily high income and an unusually low income as the basis for deciding the monthly payment can result into problems. In the former case, the borrower is stuck up in the payment. In the latter, the mortgage takes more time to be repaid. An average income, trimming off the fluctuations, will be the optimum payment.

Customers can have as many choices through the self certified mortgages as they could have on the regular mortgages. They can have a flexible mortgage wherein they can pay more in the months when his earnings are increasing. In the months of depression he can pay less or take a payment holiday. Similarly the self certified mortgages come with the features of tracker rates, fixed rates, capped rates and many other interest alternatives.

But the process of self certified mortgages differs with lenders. Some lenders may conduct special enquiries as to the credibility of the customer. Normally banks may be contacted and accountant details checked. As discussed earlier about the legality of the purpose, lenders may ask for proofs if they have any doubts.

It is recommended to take professional advice regarding the suitability of self certified mortgages for your income. The customers must choose the mortgage provider properly. Choose the one who charges the best of rates. Before signing on any document examine the various clauses properly. It may have included hefty redemption charges, for instance, to check the customers from shifting over to a regular mortgage.
